Located at 3445 Prytania Street, where Uptown gives way to the Garden District, Cafe Prytania builds on a history of bars and restaurants located at this site.
Local music, one of kind food, and walls decked out with New Orleans nostalgia set the stage for a nightly destination experience. Hear the “Soul Rebels” or “The Rebirth Brass Band” play the same stage that is frequented by up and coming indie rock bands while also finding traditional New Orleans Jazz on our calendar. Order an enormous gourmet sandwich or a specialty poboy such as “The Thai Chilli Lamb” on french bread from the “Milk Bar” counter located behind our stage. You can even order a snoball from our sidewalk window.
Food starts at 8 a.m. and drinks are served from 11AM on. We host many private parties and have a range of packages for large groups. Feel free to look at our calendar and build a party around Live Music. Whether you are planning a night on Magzine Street or St. Charles Avenue, we are ideally located between the two. Cafe Prytania is fronted by Prytania Street and is bounded by Delachaise and Aline Streets. With floor to ceiling windows and doors, as well as sidewalk seating, it’s a great place to “people watch” especially during happy hour when the Touro neighborhood transitions from work to play.
Cafe Prytania is one of the best places to be for the biggest events New Orleans has to offer. Located on the Uptown route for Mardi Gras parades, we serve as a hub for the carnival season. Drinks, food, and facilities are at arm’s length for all of the parades including The St. Patricks day procession. Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, and The Voodoo Experience are all capped by night time shows at Cafe Prytania.
Call 504-891-5773 for more information or to book parties ranging from fund raisers to birthday bashes.
We look forward to serving all of your “New Orleans Needs.”
